Training tonight with Brian. Thought it was going to be an easy session and if I had run it as he intended, it probably would have been

We had to do 3 x 500's, 4 x 300's, then 6 x 150's to finish off. Did the 500's a bit too quick at 3 min/km a pace and I deviated from the game plan even further after that. Did the 300's at just under my 5 km race pace and didn't bother timing the 150's

And even with all of that, I was not alone. Liam Magee our new guy pretty much pushed me the whole session, and I was happy to sit behind him for a few of those reps

Young Josh Persson was funny though. I could tell he was running within himself on the first four 150's. On the fifth one on the back straight he put in a strong effort and I thought that was cool. On the last one, like the true hero that I am, I showed him the sort of effort he will need if he wants to try that sort of stuff on me. Left all comers in my mighty wake. What a man!

A relaxing beer or two afterwards than a couple glasses of red as we toasted Harold Steven's 80th birthday with a function at the track. All the children in bed after 9:30 and they were pretty ratty on the way home

TOTAL DISTANCE = about 4 kilometres including warm up and down

So everyone in the entire CLub does the same session??? No individual programs, very different to my Club, we could have anywhere upto 20 style of sessions going between 3 or 4 distance coaches.

Everyone has differing goals and abilities to handle certain sessions.

Sounds like you had a good set on that night, well done Jeg and I'm sure with these continued efforts, a good run at the State XC Champs should be on the cards!
