Long slow run today
It was eleven degrees when I started out and from early on I was getting pain in my shin. Stopped at the 25 minute mark to stretch it out and after a further 15 minutes, the pain had all but dissipated. Got to the turn around point and had to do a little extra to make sure the return journey would see me complete the two hours
Upon running back, it soon became apparent that I was going to fall up to five minutes short of my two hour goal. So at the bridge across to Anderson Street at the Tan, I turned left and right to run on the opposite side of the river
Still a minute short approaching my building so had to run two blocks to complete the session. The anticipation of finishing made the last ten minutes pretty tough. I am usually very keen to get these sessions out of the way and I wasn't really feeling that great near the end so just had to suck it up and put the clock out of my mind
After a brief shower I started to feel human again, and once I'd had some lunch - yummy spaghetti bolognaise that I had made on Saturday night - thoughts were turning to tomorrow's session
TOTAL DISTANCE : about 24 kilometres
