Continuing the theme for the week, woke up sore and sorry for myself today. And cranky after stepping off the scales
Work was pretty hectic again, so caught a later train to the track. Got there and they had only just started their warm up. Brian was chatting to the group when I trotted over
The first part of the session was 5 x 300's with 100 metre jog recovery. Did each of these at a pretty steady pace, around my 1500 metre pace. Surprised I couldn't pump these out at a faster pace, but still all of them in the 49 - 51 second range was alright
The second part of the session - after a decent break and did 3 x 400's at pretty close to race pace - for me it was around 95%. The first one was 64. Then on the second one, I had young Josh Persson get me on the line. He went from 72 for the first one to 64 for the second one. I went 65 seconds this time. I got all pride hurt and said to him that he would need to do that time again on the third one
And he looked like he was on track to do it too. On the third one, he got about 15 metres in front of me through 200 metres, but he was really hurting from the previous effort and by 300 metres I was in front of him and kept getting further away from him. My last one was 65. Not sure what Josh got.
We were all pretty wrecked afterwards and when I got home for dinner, my body was very sore. I knew I had done some kind of session! Had two beers at the track and dinner was peanut butter toast and eggs on toast
Rest day tomorrow ahead of a session at the track on Saturday morning. Brian said I could take it, so he must be busy that day
TOTAL DISTANCE = about four kilometres including warm down
