About to go to bed last night around 11:30 pm and Amelia wakes up bawling. Takes a half hour to get her back down and settled so that she can sleep. So was after midnight before we got to bed. Woke up this morning and could feel slight heaviness in the legs. Not surprised after taking out that "slow" run a bit hard through the second lap yesterday lunchtime

Took half day off work today to go see my mother in hospital. She is much better but still no word on when she is going home. Kylie popped in and we drove to child care to pick up the children. The whole family went to the track where the children had fish and chips for dinner while I took the session

Session was a reasonably tough one, although it didn't sound like it in my head. We did 4 x 800's consisting of 100 jog, 300 steady, 50 jog, 150 steady, 100 jog, 100 steady. Repeat for 4 sets continuously. We then had a 5 - 6 minute break and did 4 laps of jog 50, stride 150

We had a new guy Glen there tonight and he was a 10 km PB of 37 minutes to his name. A very likely prospect and he not only did the whole session but ran with the front group for the majority of it. Hopefully he'll run the winter season for us

Kylie walked six laps in Lane 8 tonight. What an awesome effort! She has set the bar pretty high for next week. Be great if she could make this a regular thing

Afterwards I had three beers which was very naughty. Got home and had a little lasagne. And then even though I was very tired and should have gone to bed, I watched Star Trek until after midnight - at which point I had some dip and some peanut butter toast. So very wrong. I am gonna pay for that tomorrow

TOTAL DISTANCE = 5.5 kilometres including warm up/warm down
