AV Harcourt to Bendigo Relays

Had the longest leg (for my team that's 8.4 km), which is also one of the toughest. Has an awesome hill that rises 50 metres in elevation over 400 metres. That's at the 2.5 km mark and after that it's mostly downhill to the finish

Felt like once I had gotten over the hilly first part that I was striding out pretty well and generating a bit of pace. It was about a kilometre out from the finish that I started to drop off a bit and th guy that had been tailing me for about four kilometres started to pull ahead

In the end, 29:55 was the official time which was ten seconds quicker than last year. And it was the 20th fastest time for the blokes overall on that leg. All good

Afterwards I went around the various stage finishes with Sam King (Rohan's wife) and we had a little afternoon tea at the South Bendigo finish. Then off to the hotel where I looked after the children while Kylie kicked back in the spa

Dinner was good as the children generally behaved themselves, then I waited in the room for them to fall asleep, before heading around to Brian's room to kick on a bit. Kylie popped around at 11 pm to come get me and I got an attack of the drunken munchies, eating pringles and chocky bars

Long slow run with clubmates tomorrow

TOTAL DISTANCE : 8.5 kilometres including a little warm up
