Training today was interesting. Not really suited to 1500 metre running however, which is what i want to be focussing on ahead of the Vic Champs this weekend and Stawell

We did two sets. The first was 3 x 3 mins steady with 2 mins recovery between each. After a break, we had 2 x 2.5 mins with a 2 min break between them. Did this set really hard and the last minute or so was particularly tough! A good hard session and hopefully it will be good for at least the 5,000 metres on Saturday at the Champs

We had our winter season elections afterwards. Traditionally this has been done at the AGM but I thought that ridiculous given the AGM is generally one two weeks before the start of the winter season. So I pushed for it to take place in January and on a training night so more people could attend to vote. In the end, we had an excellent turn out

In a surprise Jackie Steel nominated and was voted in as Winter Vice-Captain. Philip VanDueren was re-elected unopposed as Captain. I decided to serve on the winter committee bacuase i like to have my finger in every pie, and because I do like to have my say on competition matters. Deb Canal and John Braszell were also elected as winter committee members

TOTAL DISTANCE = about 5 kilometres including warm up and down
