Training with Brian today at the Coburg track
I left work a tad earlier than usual and met up with the children at Child Care and scored a lift to training
As promised it was a light session - of sorts. There were two sets for the guys competing at the Shield Final and three sets for everyone else. A very strange session
First part of the session was five laps of steady on the bends, surge all or part of the straight. I started off what felt easy but got progressively harder as I ticked off the laps. The last lap was a killer. Should have put the watch on it and an idiot for not doing so
We had a pretty lengthy break to the next set. For AV Shield guys, it was simply a set of 5 x 150's, while the other guys had to do what looked like a couple of laps of jog straights, stride bends
So the five of us at training destined for the Shield Final did the 150's. I ended up doing all of them in around 20 - 21 seconds. Evidently this was pedestrian for Josh Persson who finished the last two much stronger than I
The other group ended up with the 5 x 150's while we did two laps cooldown
Dinner was three beers and some leftover risotto from the children's dinner
TOTAL DISTANCE = 3.5 kilometres inlcuding warm up and down
