Absolutely wrecked today, so much so that gave a moments consideration to not training. Whole body was drained of energy this morning and throughout most of the day. Kylie was doing it much harder though surviving just on caffeine

I had to pick up Hamish from child care her I would take him to the track until Kylie could pick him up. He was such a good boy and played quietly while I trained until Chris Harrap's children Nicholas and Patrick showed up

Session tonight was 4 x 1 km efforts with 200 metre walk recovery between each one. I decided that there was no point going hard with 3 min efforts if all I was going to do all winter was 3:20 - 3:30's at the fastest. So decided to try for 3:20 and work down from there

Blew that plan out of the water with 3:11 on the first rep, although pleasingly the next reps were all quicker - 3:09, 3:05 and 3:02. Happy with that but not sure its the sort of pacing I need to do for the winter season

New guy Liam Magee had an excellent session after 15 years out from being a very good runner at High School. He was just behind me and will be one to watch - six months from now he may well have mantle of best Coburg runner and that would be awesome. Someone to push with

Just before we began training a friend of ours RunJaneRun decided to run on the grassy surrounds outside the track. She said if she was not back in 40 minutes, send out a search party. Well we finished our session and it was like 7:35 pm and we were kinda concerned we had not seen her back yet. I should have checked my phone as at 7:20 pm RJR had left a message to say she was at hospital!! She badly gashed her knee in a story that only she can tell - check it out : http://jojo-runjanerun.blogspot.com/

Anyhoo, Kylie stayed on the track with the children, so had several beers, and it was off home to tuck the kidlets in bed. Amelia seemed cherry ripe today although you could tell she was slightly off. Still, amazing turnaround from last night's very sick and sorry child

TOTAL DISTANCE = about 5.5 kilometres
